Join Us and make a difference in the Taranaki Community!

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? We are always on the look out for volunteers to help with some heartwarming initiatives that support whānau in need. We have many opportunities for you to make a real impact in the community.

Community Garden – Māra kai

Our māra kai produces fresh produce for the Waitara Foodbank – Pataka Kai. We are after volunteers to assist our head volunteer Shimme with weeding, harvesting, planting and general maintenance. If you like being outdoors and want to contribute to contribute to the Local Waitara Community, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Curtain Bank

Our curtain bank provides free curtains to whānau, helping them keep their homes warm and healthy. We need volunteers to help sort, measure, alter and distribute curtains. If you have basic sewing skills, we would love to have you volunteer! Every pair of curtains makes a home more energy efficient.

Pyjama Drive

Every winter, we collect and distribute warm winter pyjama’s to tamariki and pepi in need around Taranaki. We need volunteers to help with sorting, washing, and packing donations. Your support in the space ensures children stay warm during the colder months.

How you can get involved

No special skills are required, just the willingness to learn and a heart to help the community. Whether you can volunteer once a week, or the odd occasion, every bit of support makes a huge difference.

If you are interested, please reach out to us via our website, give the team a call on: 0508 238 837 or drop into our offices at 97 Mould Street, Waitara.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger, healthier community!
